In January 2011 Ansells and the OAKHouse struck on an idea to host a dining experience with a difference, bringing together only those things independent businesses can….A unique combination of quality and service

People who have an interest in the provenance of ingredients and how to get the most out of them were a source of inspiration in developing the ‘Butchers Block to Table Top’ events.  The Ansells moto is ‘everything in its season’ and using this as our guide, each event has a theme focusing on whichever meat is in season throughout the year
The evenings start with a professional meat cutting demonstration, first hand advice and discussion about the key seasonal meat(s) at the Ansells shop.  Everyone then heads over to the OAKHouse to their private dining room upstairs for a sumptuous 3 course meal based on the meat(s) used in the earlier demonstration. Each course is accompanied by wine specially selected to complement, supplied by local wine merchant Grape Passions
This years second event is all about "summer eating" Start your summer of in style with a few new recipe suggestions.  Plus see the wines that match perfectly to finish the meal off in style.

Whats Coming Next 

START OF SUMMER Monday21st and Thursday 24th May, with new season English Lamb in it’s prime we look at how to get the best from it.
ALE Monday 13th and  Monday 20th August, teaming up with local brews farmers ales, we explore how beer and food go hand in hand.  And get to grips with what makes the perfect pint
CURRY Monday 8th & Thursday 11th October, we join in national curry week,  and look at the many types of currys and what to drink with them!
WINTER & CHRISTMAS Monday 12th and Thursday 15th November, plenty of suggestions for  all your Christmas and new year party needs.

Free Parking In Maldon

Take advantage of some the free parking in the town centre car parks at the weekends.
The Plume school is free to park on Saturdays, as is the council offices.
