At Ansells we pride ourselves on our warm welcome, the finest quality meat and excellent value for money.

We are a high quality family butchers, based in the market town of Maldon in Essex since 1928 - supplying the local community and businesses over nine decades.

Our meat, game & poultry produce ranges from the finest locally sourced to the award-winning best from Smithfield Market, London. We hand-make all our sausages on site and stock the finest quality dry-cured hand-sliced bacon.

We also offer a range of local eggs, chutneys, cooked meats, pies, cheese and condiments.

Shopping at Ansells

As a small traditional family business, we enjoy being able to provide a personal service for all our customers - families and businesses alike - and this includes being as flexible as we can to meet your needs.

This site provides a guide to who we are and what we do, but there are very few hard and fast rules so if you do have a specific requirement it's always worth asking!

We currently only accept cash or cheques but there are plenty of cash machines within a short walk in the high street.

Our highly skilled and experienced team are always on hand to offer tips and advice, as well as preparing your meat to your exact requirements. So, whether you have a recipe in mind or need some inspiration just come in and ask!
